Art and Coffee: The Brand-New Mural in Our Tasting Room

A mural that transforms the experience in our tasting room.
At Cafès Illes Balears, we believe that the coffee experience goes far beyond just the aroma or the taste. That is why we wanted our tasting room to feature an element that speaks to who we are, our origin, and our core philosophy.
Today, we are thrilled to present the new artistic mural in our tasting room—a piece that depicts the coffee cycle from the plant to the ripe cherry, and pays tribute to the human effort behind every single cup. The final result—which you can see in the final image—has become the new visual heart of our space.
The Creative Process: From Sketch to Final Artwork
Over the course of several days, the mural took shape right before our eyes.
First, the sketch appeared on the wall, outlined in white chalk. Then, layer by layer, the elements started to appear:
- The lights and shadows of the coffee cherries
- The texture of the leaves
- The realism of the hand (or: The lifelike quality of the hand)
- The white blossoms that now stand out
The now-finished mural perfectly captures the spirit of Cafès Illes Balears: tradition, origin, dedication, and passion for coffee
A Tribute to Local Art
The work was created by Tià Zanoguera (@tia_zanoguera) a fantastic local artist whose talent and interpretation brought freshness and sensitivity to the room.
Collaborating with local artists is part of our commitment to local culture and to creating spaces that are more human, authentic, and connected with the community.
A mural that tells the story of coffee
The main wall of our tasting room, painted in a deep green, is now prominently featuring:
Coffee Blossoms
They symbolize the start of the cycle and the natural beauty of the cultivation process.
Ripening Coffee Cherries
Illustrated in great detail, they show the exact point at which the fruit is ready to be harvested.
The Harvester’s Hand
An image that now stands out much more clearly in the final mural. It represents the human connection, the craftsmanship, and the respect for every single bean.
The Complete Composition
As seen in the final photo, the artwork integrates perfectly with the tasting area, the coffee shelves, and the industrial aesthetic of the premises, bringing warmth, identity, and a renewed energy to the space.
